no stated edition Fair/no jacket Original dark cloth binding, blind stamped decoration and border to front and rear boards, gilt title and decoration to spine. All edges gilt. Frontispiece of The Bride of Abyos, with protective tissue. Decorative first title page with a small illustration of The Giaour. Second plain title page. Internally very clean, just a couple of small marks. The front free endpaper has been removed, the hinges both ends are weak and have opened and the book is shaken. Inscription of a previous owner written three times, two dated 1878 (one in ink, one pencil) another in ink dated 1895. The covers are worn and marked, wear to bottom of spine, wear to top of spine with splitting. The gilt has faded but still quite readable. A handsome little book once but now needs some tlc or perhaps a rebind. A nice selection of poems. Size: 16.5 x 10.5 cms. 354 pages. Bookseller Inventory #
