About this Item

1st. edition, very good in light blue cloth boards with red lettering on the spine. Usual but minimal library markings, card pocket on the front free endpaper. Tape residue and stains on front and back boards as well as free endpapers from where jacket was attached. Red dyed page tops as issued, binding solid, tight and firm, inner pages bright, clean and unmarked. Pictorial dust jacket is almost like new in a protective bro-dart mylar cover. In Lord Fancy, Leslie Turner White has written a fast paced and dramatic novel. Filled with all the pagentry, contrasts and movement of eighteenth-century England when all the sportsmen from the Prince of Wales down were caught up in the excitement of boxing, not only the contest itself but more importantly in the heavy wagering involved.
