Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. ] Hardback, octavo, 423 pages, Very Near Fine in VG to VG+ dj (dj fitted w/ protective mylar sleeve). Book itself essentially flawless in a tight square binding with square corners, the hinges intact & only a normal very light and very shallow depression to each spine end for wear. DJ very clean, price corner intact, pulling crinkle head of spine, light flaring/very light crinkle along top edge front panel, very light corner rubbing, & head of spine very tiny split at fold with the front panel. Condition: Very Good +. Jacket Condition: Very Good +. A second edition, 1st impression set comprising: The Fellowship of the Ring, 1966; The Two Towers, 1966; The Return of the King, 1966, each volume with unclipped dust jacket and folding map at the rear. The books are in excellent condition and are clean internally, with no name, inscription or bookplate in any. The cloth on each is clean and fresh, the gilt titles bright and clear. All fore edge corners are firm, sharp and square. The dust jackets are in very good condition over all, noting a light crease running vertically down the jacket of vol.1 with a tiny ink mark at the bottom edge of it and also to the foot of its spine, a few dust & finger marks on the back panels and a tiny scuff to centre of the spine of vol.2.; otherwise, the jackets have no other tears, tape or loss.
