Karikatur auf die Auswirkungen der staatlich geförderten Lotterie. Die verschiedenen allegorischen Figuren, die die Szene bevölkern, veranschaulichen die Gefahr dieser Form des Glücksspiels. Auf dem Podest stehen die Personifikationen, die die möglichen Vorteile darstellen: der 'National Credit', Britannia, Gerechtigkeit, Apollo, darunter aber die Figuren der gefährlichen moralischen und finanziellen Risiken: Habgier, Verführung, Spannung, Hoffnung, Verzweiflung etc.- Unterhalb der Darstellung mit Erklärung der verschiedenen Figuren und Szenen.- Im breiten weißen Außenrand mit zwei kleinen Feuchträndern.- Caricature - The Lottery.
