About this title

truck by Beauty The moon joins the ocean In the shimmer on the horizon The sun paints the sky with pastels Just before rising Entranced by the mysteries Of the deep dark blue Lost in my thoughts About people I missed and knew The ocean breeze carries A salt water mist Merging with my tears Down the side of the ship Maybe an image to uphold Is why my feelings I denied Struck by beauty The first time I cried Rick L. Robinson Jr. was born in Oakland, CA and grew up in Sacramento, CA. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy for a term of five years. While stationed in Norfolk, VA he attended Norfolk State University where he became reacquainted with his childhood thirst for literature. Rick became an avid reader and grew fond of notable figures that wrote so eloquently. Rick learned that poetry is an attempt to express the perfect example. So a dream of just walking into history as a novice poet with mediocre commitment, was at best only a compromise of the integrity poetry has sought to secure throughout its existence. E.C. Stedman sums it up best, " Poetry is an art, and chief of the fine arts; the easiest to dabble in, the hardest in which to reach true perfection."
