139 p. This is a lovely book of photographs and instructions for giving a baby or small child a massage (or any loved one, for that matter). Leboyer, the author and photography, came upon a beautiful woman in a shantytown on the outskirts of Calcutta, engrossed in giving her baby a massage--an act Laboyer calls "an exchange of love." Realizing the value of the ritual for the health and happiness of both participants, he returned again and again to photograph Shantala performing a massage and described each step in detail. Sixth printing. Black-and-white photographs. Quarto (ca. 12" x 9"), red hard cover with silver title on tan spine, almost perfect (a minute sliver of color loss along two inches of the lower edge of lhe front cover); dust jacket fine except for one 1/4" closed tear, not price clipped. Extra postage may be necessary because of the book's large size. Bookseller Inventory # ABE-18060393806
