Stated First Edition, FIRST PRINTING with matching date on title and copyright page. Book is INSCRIBED BY AUTHOR "To John Deardoff (sic) with all the best and much thanks, Teddy White". John Deardourff was a Republican political consultant who helped orchestrate President Gerald R. Ford's late surge in 1976's presidential election and worked with White in writing this book. Book is in FINE condition with dark blue textured cloth binding with author's initials embossed on front cover and bright gilt lettering on spine. Spine tips and corners untouched. Beige and brown pictorial endpapers with four maps of U.S. showing total electoral votes for four elections (1952, 1960, 1964 & 1968.) Price point intact. Dustjacket is VERY GOOD - with white glossy background with gold and blue lettering on front cover and spine and president's seal at bottom of cover. Jacket has creasing to top of front and back cover and (4) 1/4 to 1/2" tears on top edges and one 3/4 tear on bottom right corner of front cover. All tears will barely show when covered.
