8vo. xvi, 340p. Illustrated with 43 black and white photos, including several of Bishop Rowe. Endpapers are maps. Black cloth with white letters on the front cover and the spine. Fine with clean covers bright white letters, all photos present and in fine condition, previous owner's signature in pencil on the front free endpaper [David C. Graham] and with no internal markings. Dust jacket has a few tiny chips at the top and bottom of the spine and is very lightly soiled but not price-clipped. Color postcard of St. Peter's -by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, Sitka, Alaska, laid in. This church was dedicated in 1900 by Bishop Rowe. Written by Bishop Thomas Jenkins [Nevada], this is a biography of the first American bishop of the Episcopal Church in Alaska and covers a period of expansion beginning with the Klondike gold rush in 1896 until 1934.
