Hale, Edward Everett. THE MAN WITHOUT A COUNTRY. NY: Grosset & Dunlap, (1925). First Photoplay Edition of this classic silent film in a Fine copy with a FINE ORIGINAL DUST JACKET . Illustrated with 8 b/w photographs from the motion picture. Written during the dark days of the Civil War, this is the famous tale of a man convicted of treason in 1805 who is forced to spend fifty years at sea without seeing or mentioning the US of A. Very early photoplay vintage rarely found so nice, only slightly age-toned as is usual with G & D early issues. Released in tandem with the 1925 silent film adaptation.
