Light blue cloth over dark blue cloth with gilt letters on the spine and the logo of J. M. Dent & Sons stamped in dark blue on the front cover. A Chronology of Margaret McMillan's Life in Relation to Her Times, a list of written works by Margaret McMillan and three appendices as follows: "Present Position of 'Special Servics' Advocated or Created by Margaret McMillan", "The Objects of the Nursery Schools Association of Great Britain", and "The 'Margaret McMillan Open-Air Nursery School and After Associations'". Very minor wear to extremities, cloth clean, gift inscription, gilt bright, else very good to near fine. No dust jacket. Margaret McMillan [1860-1931] had a widespread influence on the education of children before and during the years of school life both in her native Britain and abroad. According to her biographer, Carolyn Steedman, when McMillan died in 1931, "she had achieved legendary status as the patron saint of childhood."
