199p. Ex-library hardcover book in original binding. The spine has a dent in the middle and a label near the bottom. Edges lightly rubbed and corners a bit bent at the tips. Stamps on edges, endpapers, and title page, and card pocket in back. Otherwise a clean, tight book in very good condition. Scarce biography of St. Peter Chanel (1803-1841), a Marist missionary priest who was clubbed to death while ministering on the island of Futuna. He was canonized in 1954. This book is illustrated with several black and white plates.
