007731-MS P-055A Partisan Warfare in the Balkans 242 Pages1950 This report is hard to read in places. This report was written by General der Gebirgstruppen Hubert Lanz. The full title of this report is Partisan Warfare in the Mountains (based upon Experiences in Greece and Southern Albania) 1943/1944. General Lanz was the Commanding General of the XXII Mountain Corps which was occupying that area at that time. This study gives a clear picture of the methods of combat practiced by the partisan, the German operations against them, and the extreme difficulty of waging warfare against partisans in a mountainous wooded terrain. The hand drawn maps at the end of the report were made by the General himself. The Foreign Military Studies Program actually began shortly after V-E Day, when Allied interrogators first questioned certain prominent German prisoners of war. Results were so encouraging that the program was expanded; written questions replaced oral interrogation, and later certain highly-placed German officers were asked to prepare a series of monographs. This is one of those projects. THIS ITEM IS SOLD AS A DIGITAL DOWNLOAD ONLY. AFTER PURCHASE YOU WILL BE FURNISHED A LINK FOR DOWNLOAD BY EMAIL. Bookseller Inventory #
