Royal 8vo, pp. 4, lxviii-[lxx], 416, 15 [ads]; ex-library copy with usual markings, hinges cracked, extremities and joints rubbed, crack in lower cover, small cracks in spine ends, else a good, sound copy in contemporary quarter brown cloth over black paper-covered boards, gilt lettering on spine. A life of St. Hugh (ca. 1135-1200), bishop of Lincoln, compiled from a 12th-century manuscript in the Bodleian Library and a 15th-century manuscript from the Imperial Library in Paris. The author of the biography was mostly likely Adam Abbot of Evesham, the domestic chaplain and private confessor of Bishop Hugh.
