Early rebinding - about 8 inches tall. Begins with title page leaf, followed by leaf A3. [30]pages of various preliminaries, including t.p. 901p of text complete but with only [25 of 26]pages of following Tables present: (Index Table is complete but Table of Diseases and Remedies is present to letter "V" only, which is the last leaf in this book and with reduced edges. Leaves N and N2 bound out of order. Also leaves N7 and N8 bound out of order. Leaves Bb3, Bb4, Bb7 and Bb8 are mispaginated. Old, worn leather binding is very fragile. Front cover detached. Title page is tape repaired, soiled with very damaged edges. Many of the following preliminary leaves are reduced at unhinged outer side edges with some loss to printed marginalia. Damaged page edges including small tears. A few leaves are tape repaired. Up to about 2 inch long, thin worming through about 30 leaves. Moderate soiling and damp staining to about half the pages. Occasional light foxing. 37 illustrations: small to full page, including alembics, forme of a labyrinth, and chief of herbes Nicotiana.
