An English man employed at a sugar cane plantation in North Queensland goes "haywire" and decides he must have the simple life on "some lonely Pacific isle." He and a 'native' spend a few weeks on an island in the Coral Sea experimenting with spear fishing and palm tree climbing. The author then spends another few weeks adventuring in Kona, Hawaii.
