8.25" x 5.5". 334pp. Maroon cloth, in dust wrapper. Near fine condition; the jacket has very light edge wear and general use. This copy signed and inscribed by the author on the first leaf. Costigan (1905-1985) was a noted historian and specialist in Irish and English history. Costigan was educated at the University of Oxford and the University of Wisconsin Madison. In 1934 he joined the history department at the University of Washington where he served for 41 years.
