Dated September 11, 1989, Philbin writes: ÒDear Mr Riley: I am sorry about the delay in returning the book and papers. I would appreciate eleven complimentary copies of The Phantom of the Opera book or if you cannot, then as many as possible. Thank you, Mary PhilbinÓ. Accompanied by the original hand-addressed envelope from PhilbinÕs home in Los Angeles. Philbin died before the book was published, so this is as close as one can come to a signed copy.
