First edition. Hardcover in black cloth lttered in gilt. 276 pp. Fine, bit of light staining top egde of the text block. In the scarce dust wrapper, yellow printed in black. Jacket lightly and evenly soiled and with a small chip head of spine and some stains to the rear panel. Obscure semi-biographical examination of the life and writings of D.H. Lawrence told in the form of a novel. The author explains, both on the dust wrapper and in the introduction, ".this book makes no pretension to be a literal interpretation of actual places, incidents, and people as they entered into the life of Lawrence.the author [has taken] the bones and situation of the struggle as revealed in the two streams of consciousness in man."
