The Methodist Book Concern, NY. This item was by New Jersey Brevet Brigadier General James F. Rusling. Much of the book concerns Rusling’s letters while the remainder is his recollections of famous leaders. He writes a seperate small chapter on each of the 11 leaders he met, the list includes Lincoln, Grant, Lee, Andrew Johnson, Sherman, McClellan, etc. Rusling spent most the Civil War as a Quartermaster at the regimental, brigade, division and corps level. He was both the quatermaster inspector and the assistant quartermaster for the Army of the Potomac and the Army of the Cumberland. Very good copy of the hard cover book. This is a reprint of the 1899 book. Blue cloth with gilted letters and the National shild on the spine and the white letters and an eagle holding the National shield on the cover. 420 pages.
