FIRST AMERICAN issue, STATED 'Second Printing April 1931', being in the same year and month. Originally issued in Paris in 1929 under the title "The Escaped Cock". This, a Near Very Good volume. NO jacket. NO interior markings of any kind, clean and tight. Lower front and rear corners are bumped (see photo) and front lower corner has a shallow crease (board is not bent). Tips gently worn and spine crown and foot of cloth just beginning to fray. Title page printed in two colors (black and red). Top of closed pages tinted by publisher. Only one page roughly opened at fore-edge. Still a very lovely copy. 103 pages.Protected in a mylar slip. Seller Inventory # 002438
