Stated first edition. Brown specked paper covered boards with a blue binding. Lacking dust jacket. 311 pp. A modern thriller envisioning a US soldier as a brainwashed assassin for communist forces, this work served as the basis for two films of the same name, one released in 1962, one in 2004. GOOD condition. Faint tape scars at the top and bottom of the front and rear covers, with some corresponding faint staining on the endpapers. General fading, some whitish scuffs and minor soiling to the covers. Slight lean to the binding. Interior clean and solid with minor toning to the paper. A few dog ear creases present.
