Chicago, 1878. 14 x 28 lithographic map, creased at folds. A scarce map showing the land grants of the Winona and St. Peter Railroad. The railroad, established by a group of Winona businessmen in 1862, grew in range for the next two decades. This map shows the railroad expanding the line to Lake Kampeska at the corner of the Sisseton and Warpeton Indian Reservation. This 1878 edition is not listed in OCLC, though a handful of other printings exist from 1876-1888, with nine copies held total. A very good copy with creasing at folds and two tiny tears at corners.
