About this title

Marcel Broodthaers was both the elegant face and elusive figure of which legends are made. Born in 1924 in Brussels, he spent the last decade of his life in peripatetic fashion- primarily in Brussels, but also in London, Dusseldorf and Cologne, where he died o f liver disease in 1976. Printed for the 1989 traveling exhibition curated by Marge Goldwater and Michael Compton at the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN. An overview of the life and work of this Brussels artist. Thoroughly illustrated with B&W and color images, this book includes essays by Marge Goldwater, Michael Compton, Douglas Crimp, Bruce Jenkins, and Martin Mosebach.
