Title: Das Marchen vom Wolf und den Sieben Geislein...
Publisher: Reiher-Verlag, Weimar
Publication Date: 1922
Book Condition: Good
Signed: Signed by Illustrator(s)
Edition: 1st Edition
Hard-cover. Limited edition. This first edition was held to a total of fifty copies only, of which this is number 30. Five exquisite matted woodcuts on onion skin paper, each woodcut signed and numbered. The title page also contains a print and the artist's signature. They illustrate the (unsuccessful) attempt of the wolf to eat the billy-goats and his dire fate. Klemm was one of the great animal engravers, a prolific illustrator, a member of the Weimar Art School (and also, occasionally, an illustrator of pornography). The boards are faded, the mats brown, but the engravings are as fresh as if just executed. Bookseller Inventory # 000132
