Beautiful book -- clean as a whistle inside and out. No bumps to boards and no names or writing. Book is designed with paper over boards and a blue cloth spine. Book measures 9" x 12" and has 189 pages. Book opens with an extensive chapter about Cassatt's life and work, plus notes and a chronology. The next section discussesn the techncal methods used by her -- drypoint, hard ground etching, soft ground etching, aquatint, color prints, other tonal processes and lithography. The majority of the book is the catalogue which focuses solely on her graphicworks. It is predominately illustrated in black and white, but there is also some color art. Very beautiful.
