Cloth, Small quarto, 176 pages, one color plate, loose. . Jane Eayre Fryer, born in 1876, taught cooking and domestic science at the Tome Institute in Baltimore. Later she moved to Merchantville, New Jersey, where she wrote the Mary Frances storybooks from 1912 through 1918, a series of books geared to teaching children useful things in an entertaining way. The character Mary Frances and her doll ' Sweet Mary Marie' became famous. Poor copy, because of some fraying, somewhat shaken, small label on spine, loose plate. Bookseller Inventory # 7730
