One of these was presented by President Theodore Roosevelt to the German Emperor in 1910 after his visit to Berlin, while three other copies were bought by the late King Edward VII, the Prince of Wales (King George V) and Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria shortly before his assassination which gave rise to World War II. Partially a translation from the most famous hunting book, Gaston Phoebus, which the author wrote while in prison for an attempt to murder his cousin Richard II.
