About this title

The deadly arts of Soviet special forces have not been lost, they have adapted to the new world order. Eva was once a soldier of the Cold War, trained in seduction and espionage – a Matryoshka (Russian Doll). By the new millennium, she is living in London and working as an art dealer but beneath the outer shell the Matryoshka is still at large. When an operation goes wrong, Eva is traced by a ghost from her past, Colonel Vasili Dimitriev, her combat instructor from Spetznaz. Dimitriev believes Eva can help him uncover a traitor in Moscow. But the traitor strikes first with an Alpha team – six of the most lethal soldiers in the world – sent to silence them both. British police and the CIA join the hunt and Eva and Vasili must work together to stay alive and discover the truth. But can the seductress and the spy trust one another in this deadliest of games – where trust is a weakness and love is a weapon?

About the Author:

Goran Powell is a freelance writer and martial arts author who holds a 5th Dan in Goju Ryu Karate. He works in London and teaches and trains at Daigaku Karate Kai, one of the UK’s strongest clubs.    In 2006 he published his first book Waking Dragons, an autobiographical account of his training for the 30 Man Kumite, one of the ultimate tests for a martial artist. An instant bestseller on Amazon's Martial Arts listing, Waking Dragons has become required reading in karate dojos worldwide. Goran’s first novel A Sudden Dawn was published in 2010, telling the story of the legendary Bodhidharma who brought Zen and martial arts to the Shaolin Temple, and winning three awards for Best Historical Fiction from USA Book News, eLit, and LivingNow. His second novel Chojun tells the story of a young Okinawan boy who trains with the world-famous karate master Chojun Miyagi as war looms in the Pacific. In 2013, Chojun collected five awards including Winner at Eric Hoffer, and Silver at the Benjamin Franklin Awards.
