BlueInk Review: Historical fiction is at its best.... She has a knack for dialogue...
High Seas: A Matter of Blood – This is the second book in the High Seas series. Margaret is finally going to be with the man she loves – or is she? One of the obstacles she has to deal with in her relationship with Captain Todd Withers – is her mother. Margaret is now the widow of the world renown, Alec Mitchell, who was also known as The Pepper King of India. Her mother, Clarice Wallingham, believes the Captain an unsuitable match for her daughter. However, the good Captain has a secret.
Margaret is also custodian her stepson’s massive trust. This doesn’t set well with Drake’s uncle, Lawrence Mitchell. His desire is to control the fortune by obtaining custody of his nephew. Is he the one that is keeping Margaret from the man she loves? Or is it another?
Follow the lives, relationships, and intrigues of Margaret and Todd, Lawrence and Olivia Mitchell, and Margaret’s son, Drake, with his two friends, Eric Mitchell and William Braxton, as their stories are intertwined with Margaret’s adventure.
About the Author:
In submitting this novel for publication the first question I was asked to answer was, what qualifies me to write this book. I had to think. I graduated from Jeffersontown High School, where I took a creative writing class, and then it was off to Spencerian College where I graduated with a diploma as a Medical Assistant. I also took a basic computer class at Western Ky. University. Later, I practiced and taught Taekwon-do and hold a fourth degree black belt. However, where I believe my qualifications lie, are in my passion for writing, a sense of humor, and a God granted gift of a good imagination with a few stories rattling around in my head.
I was married for the first time at the tender age of fifty and live in Kentucky. I enjoy my nieces and nephews, playing guitar, swashbuckling movies, and most of all...writing.
