There are several similarities in these two works. Both authors draw analogous comparisons betwen sales and other fields (Aaronson, a sales training consultant, with athletics; McMahon with show business); relate their personal sales experiences; give categories into which potential customers may be placed and techniques on how to deal with these types; stress the importance of appearance and good grooming; and go into detail on how to close deals. Most of the information given in each book can be found in other works on selling techniques, but these are very good and should be considered if recent titles are sought. Each is well organized, clearly written, and helpful to anyone contemplating a career in this field or wishing to improve their current skills. Of the two, McMahon's book has a broader appeal and covers a wider range of techniques and situations. In addition, his name recognition and connection with numerous endorsements will probably attract many readers. Aaronson's work is to be serialized in Success and Glamour magazines. Both are recommended.
