About this Item

Foreword by Charles C. Sprague. 8vo. Stiff glazed pictorial wrappers. xvii, 244pp. Very good. Faintest of edgewear only -- nearly a "Near fine." Tight, handsome second printing of this notable how-to. Wonderfully signed and inscribed to a colleague by the author in black ballpoint on the half-title page: "To: Dr. Ralph Gordon / With my compliments / and deep appreciation. / The best of everything at / Michigan State. We will / surely miss you at TAMU. / Jim Knight / 2-8-77." ("TAMU" = Texas A & M University College of Medicine.) Knight (1918-98) was a noted psychiatrist, Methodist minister, theologian, and medical ethicist, while Gordon is a noted pediatric medicine professor and medical history scholar.
