About the Author:
Bio G.T. Harrell G.T. Harrell, born in Durham, NC in 1941 joined the Army in 1962 and was trained at the Army Security Agency’s facility at Fort Devens, MA. He was honorably discharged in Germany three years later and on his way home stopped to visit England where he remained for 11 years and started his long newspaper career that later led him to the Philadelphia Inquirer and New York Daily News. At the newspapers he often saw stories about crime and political corruption spiked. He became keenly aware of Mafia activities in the two American cities, many of which were never reported. Twenty years later he was asked to write For Members Only by relatives of the main subject, Paulie Lefty. He drew upon his newspaper and intelligence experiences to work his way up the ladder of the FBI to find someone who admitted the knowledge of Lefty’s existence and power. The retired agent who was in the Organized Crime Taskforce knew that Harrell would not disclose his name as he had requested. “No one in Intelligence ever gives up secrets.” Using his interrogation skills, he managed to uncover true stories never known by any newspaper writers or Mafia historians. No one could ever discover the true story about what happened to Jimmy Hoffa. Harrell interviewed one of only two men who were there to witness his disposal. No one reported or followed up in newspapers or history books about the largest narcotics heist in American history pulled off by Paulie Lefty. Several top Mafia bosses never before disclosed are detailed in For Members Only. Harrell managed to take his discoveries, including inside stories as told by three generations of Lefty’s family, and convert them into a critically acclaimed, compelling, must read book.
