About this Item

Original black leather spine very good/marbled boards, rubbed with moderate wear, but tight. Slight foxing and discoloration of endpapers, pencilled name, 3 steel engravings, the frontispiece of Rev. Messinger with tissue and 2 others. 240 pages complete. The preliminary pages have faint damp staining else internally very good+ with pages still white. Gilt spine lettering very legible: "Memoir of Messinger." Episcopal missionary in Africa who died and is buried at Mt. Vaughan. (engraving of the graves). Bookseller Inventory # 0000004674
