First edition. Fine, ownership signature and date of Nov. 1961 on front free endpaper. Red cloth with spine lettered in gilt. 222 pp. with bibliography. Illustrated with 15 black and white photographs. One of the most famous tattoo artists of all time, George Burchett, practiced his profession for 55 years and, prior to his death in 1953 at age eighty, prepared notes for a book of memoirs that he intended to be published posthumously. In a very good or slightly better dust jacket, original price intact, , short closed tear top front panel, light wear at spine extremities and a small chip bottom edge of rear panel.
