KENDRICKEN, Paul Henry. Memoirs of. Boston: Privately printed, 1910. 1st ed. Illus. 355pp. Some wear to spine ends, a very good copy in orig. cloth. A scarce book not in Howes, TPL or Lande. Largely devoted to the author's life at sea and his life in Quebec and Newfoundland until 1844. In 1844 the author and his family came to the United States, settling in Boston. Pages 192-296 deal with Kendricken's Civil War service as an engineer on the Conemaugh, at Port Royal, Mobile Bay and Charleston. Nevins, Civil War Books, p. 227: ".some interesting details on the ship's organization." After the war the author became a Massachusetts state senator. Inscribed by the author.
