Chez l’auteur, Paris, 1914. 8vo. original cloth backed marbled boards, xxxii, 866pp. Covers rubbed, Dupont & Halgat stamp dated 1914 to title and half title with original publisher’s name neatly excised otherwise a very good, clean, tight copy. A classic work on the subject by an author who was awarded 10 Diplomes d'Honneur. With short biographies and portraits of many notable gastronomic authors and two folding facsimile letters from Câreme. Previous owner’s name to f.e.p. M. Sauget. Maurice Sauget once chef to The Hon. Olive Cecilia Paget, Leeds Castle, Kent.
