About this Item

"The writing of this book was a labor of love, for I have long wanted to write about the real town of Mount Airy, North Carolina, which was every bit as wonderful and as quirky as the fictional Mayberry. I also wanted to pay tribute to my grandfather, Judge A.E. Creed, who more than anyone else in my life, was responsible for giving me the ethics and values I try to live by. Writing a non-fiction book based on a combination of research and memories brings both pleasures and pitfalls. As a writer, one of my favorite anecdotes has to do with two sisters, both of whom are well-known authors. {They dhall remain anonymous to protect the guily.}.Evoking the feeling of life in Mount Airy during the days Andy and I were growing up is the heart of this book. For my friends, those I went to school and church with, I did my best to elicit the flavor of those times. My memories may not be accurate in every detail-but they surely are true." This book has 189 pages and is illiustrated. The book is a SIGNED copy from the author, Jewell Mitchell Kutzer. Bookseller Inventory # 062211
