8vo. 18 by 10 cm. viii, 387, 378 pp. With 16 hand-colored plates of great buildings, monuments and natural wonders, not all of them the most obvious suspects, including the Tower of Nanking, Versuvius, caverns (l'Oreille de Denis), the Fountain of Innocence in Paris, a fig tree of the Indies, the lighthouse of Eddystone, The Pont du Gard, the Mausoleum of Ali Khan, St. Peters in Rome, diamond mines, Niagara Falls, the Temple of Minerva, the Louvre, the Colosseum, Fingal's Cave, and the Source of the Kranesborough. There are many short articles about these and other outstanding sights. The set is also found uncolored, it should be noted. Generally clean.
