About this Item

Single leaf (about 7.5 x 9.75 inches), handwritten in cursive, in black ink; bulk of the text on one side, address and remnants of wax seal on the other. Flattened creases from folding, else fine, accompanied by modern notes. Jeremiah Roberts writes to Colonel Ebenezer Stevens, hoping to be excused from military service -- but, if not, how to obtain a uniform.
