Middlebrook had been a student of mathematics under Nehemiah Strong who taught mathematics and natural philosophy in Yale College and he published his first almanac in Danbury in 1805 and moving to New Haven in 1808. This almanac contains a woodcut of a man showing which parts of the body are ruled by the astrological signs. Also a small woodcut of an eclipse. Anecdotes, jokes about lawyers and Irish. 12mo.  ff.
