Side stapled photo-mechanically reproduced pages. 8 ½ by 11 inches. 4 pages. A typewritten newsletter type piece, apparently issued by the Inter-Racial Council of Denton, Texas. This piece reproduces a letter criticizing the vagueness in principles/objectives of the organization, asking for clarity. In response, the council outlines its goals for racial equality for African-Americans on a local (Denton, Texas) and national level. This includes education and employment opportunities, etc. Typed names at the end include E.A. Mares, Sheldon R. Newman and Will Shakespeare. Little information on the council could be found on various internet searches, although an organization, the Christian Women's Interracial Fellowship was active in Denton at this time period, which sought to desegregate the community through neighborhood actions and involvement (wedentondoit website). GOOD condition. Writing at the upper left front corner. Horizontal fold crease present. General browning and wrinkling to the piece. Bookseller Inventory #
