Book Description Editions Albert Skira, Paris, 1936. Unpaginated preliminaries, 67p., ads; coated alkaline paperstock throughout, sewn textblock, contents as called for. A good-only copy, with heavily foxed margins (front cover), irregular toning (rear), some exterior soil, sprinkles of lighter foxing (?) inside each wrap; 12.2x9.5 inch buff wraps with Matisse titling and decoration in black. Tipped-on plates are in fine shape, the Dali repros done with exceptional fidelity for the time. A limited light damp-ripple affects the upper corner throughout (although the cardstock covers avoided any perceptible touch), on the first few leaves the ripple shows along two inches of top edge and three inches along foredge with several light adhesion-scars that intrude on b&w graphics but do not obscure these, thereafter the ripple dwindles rapidly and is scarcely noticible on the last leaves. The foot of the initial signature is not fully fastened into the wraps, this subtle gap about 2.5 inches long. There are no ownership or institutional marks and no soil within, a pretty good copy with no tears or significant edgewear. Bookseller Inventory # 218568
