About the Author

Monica G. Marcu, a clinical pharmacologist, has been "in love with trees", as she puts it, ever since she can remember. This led her to study plants, particularly medicinal plants. Monica now uses her love of healing plants to study ways to cure disease. She has worked in biomedical research laboratories at the University of Ottawa and the National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute.
