Circa 1915. Staple bound, paper wrapper with illustration of an African American woman on the front cover, upper corners folded, minor chipping, otherwise attractive copy. 3 3/4 x 9 inches, one illustration. Attractive and interesting stylized typeface, made to appear hand printed. Dorothy Dix was the pseudonym for journalist Elizabeth Meriweather Gilmer (1861-1951) who wrote a very popular advice column. This is a reprint of one of the stories in her short story collection "Mirandy", published in 1914. The stories are written in African American dialect. Bookseller Inventory # 016601
