About this Item

complete set (27 issues) of La Monda Lingvo-Problemo (Esperanto Frame Language, largely English text language), volumes 1 - 9 (January 1969 to the end of 1971) and volumes 1 - 6, numbers. 1 - 18 (1972 - 1979, confusing system of volume numbers, issue numbers, and dates); followed by 15 issues of LMLP's successor journal Languge Problems and Language Planning: vol 4, 1980, 3 issues; vol 5, 1981, 3 issues; vol 6, 1982, 3 issues; vol 7, 1983 2 issues (missing issue #3); vol 8, 1984, 3 issues; vol 9, 1985, issue #1 only issues; mostly in Fine or Near Fine condition; WOULD PREFER TO SELL AS A SET; issues of La Monda Lingvo-Problemo, published by Mouton in a small press run, have become rare; a complete set is not to be had; I knew the editor (through 1984), Richard Wood, quite well; he was a close friend of mine during the time he was teaching at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau and can imagine his frustration at being employed mostly to teach Russian; he was an immensely talented polyglot and scholar who ran rings around most people in his environment and didn't learn sufficiently how to relate to them; he left for Saudi Arabia and then the Big Island of Hawaii and it all fell apart; all issues have soft covers; 8vo - 232 (LMLP), 227 (LPLP) millimeters tall. Store Description

Triple G Books is owned and operated by an emeritus professor of linguistics, who was also an ardent book collector over the period 1954 to 2007. Books for sale range from linguistics, pidgin & creole languages, sociolinguistics, anthropology, education, and comparative religion through modern first editions and German and Scandinavian books. A number of the books are valuable and hard to find, as for example a 1/2-leather-bound first edition of Alfred Russell Wallace's The Malay Archipelago (2 vols.), recently sold for presentation to the Mayor of London on his visit to Malaysia, and a first edition of H. G. Wells' The Time Machine, a novel of the 19th century pointing to a scary future, a continuing revelation to me. Triple G Books stands back of its books in every way.
