About this Item

A rare 1st appearance of two key essays by the great Harvard Philosopher and the first American Pragmatist, who titled himself the founder of Pragmaticism. The essays are The Law of Mind and The Doctrine of Necessity. These are major long essays and are very rare. Note, this is also a book review of Edmund Husserl's Philosophy of Arthimetic, in the rear section of book reviews, as well as a key essay by John Dewey in the volume of Monist. Original brick gilt cloth, some wear, bumped spine top and bottom, ex library from the old library at Newcastle on Tyne University with their withdrawal notice, else quite clean and tight, overall very good. Size: Tall 8vo. Bookseller Inventory # 000013
