About this Item

In a foreword, Larry Ridley, jazz academic, says that Monk Montgomery (brother of the immortal Wes) is recognized as the first musician ever to play the Fender electric bass guitar, and in doing so, to give it status in the performance of jazz. I can't evaluate this statement, but this does look like a gold mine for the aspiring jazz bass player, electric or acoustic. The book is comb-bound, 208 pages in length and contains both text and exercises. This book has a home-made look, and appears to have been printed at a copy shop rather than by a press. The paper used was not of the finest grade, and it has tanned quite a bit, but it is not very brittle, although a few pages show edgewear, and you can use it with confidence. The covers are faded and creased. The cove art is striking. Fast shipping world wide, with tracking number supplied to all US customers. Bookseller Inventory # 30679
