About this Item

104 pages, plus map and 44 exquisitely hand-colored lithographs by De Becquet Freres Lithographers of Paris after the drawings of P. Oudart. The second title was published in London by Samuel Highley, in 1854. This title is 24 pages, plus 4 additional hand-colored plates after P. Oudart. Both volumes are bound together in a single period binding that is half red leather, with raised spine bands, and elaborate gilt stamped decoration. Burgundy leather spine label with gilt stamped lettering. Marbled paper over boards and as end leaves. Covers are a little rubbed and show a few scuffs. There is a little residue of older penciled dealer notes on blank leaves. Handling and light signs of age, though volume remains tight and generally very clean. Bookseller Inventory # 033193
