An account of the activities at the Prybilov Islands, once known as the Seal Islands in the Bering Sea off Alaska's coast. With two fold-out maps, showing St. George Island and St. Paul Island. With 29 full-page plates depicting island scenes, and twelve sketch maps of the islands and their rookeries. Much of the focus is on seal, sea lion and walrus habitats, life habits, and the hunting of them by locals, with depictions of local bird life as well. --- In maroon half leather with leather label on cover, which states "Woodmont/Rod & Gun Club/from/James. P. Willett." in gilt-stamped letters. Endpapers in attractive red/orange/blue/ivory marbled paper. --- A few pages with ink-blots and pencilings; along with other assorted soiled spots.
