About this Item

Pages 99 pp.12mo. Printed paper covered boards. An English religious work in chapbook format with a Hartford imprint. O. D. Cooke was a religious publisher, whose ad appears on the back cover. The untimely death of the author's pious and scholarly son, originally destined to succeed the father as a minister of the Gospel, is recounted in detail and sequentially, lending a parable to the youth's decline. The quotation from Isaiah on the cover reveals the parable: "The flower fadeth, but the word of God shall stand for ever." Paper spine cover 80% gone. Slight wear at lower end of front cover. Else, Very Good. Bookseller Inventory # 8627
